If you're getting married at Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club in Pitt Meadows, you're already halfway to a beautiful gallery.

Wide-open skies, a golf course that turns gold in the fall, and a clubhouse that photographs beautifully in any light — this is one of those venues that does half my job for me. I'm Julia, a Vancouver wedding photographer, and Swaneset Bay is one of the venues I know best. Here's what a wedding here looks like through my lens — and how to check your date.

Why Swaneset Bay Photographs So Well

October at Swaneset Bay is something special — golden light, wide-open skies, and a golf course that turns every portrait into a postcard. But the venue earns its keep in every season: open space means clean backgrounds, soft natural light, and room for a couple to breathe in front of the camera instead of being squeezed into a corner.

The course gives you variety without ever leaving the property: open fairways, tree-lined paths, and the clubhouse as a backdrop — so your gallery feels like several locations, all within a short walk of each other.

Best Photo Spots at Swaneset Bay

From the weddings I've photographed here, these are the spots I always make time for:

  • The golf course at golden hour — long light, long grass, and portraits that look effortless.
  • The lawn ceremony site — open sky behind the couple, and room for guests without crowding the frame.
  • The tree-lined paths — soft, filtered light that flatters everyone, especially late in the day.
  • The clubhouse backdrop — a clean, classic frame for family portraits and couple shots.

A Real Swaneset Bay Wedding: Christine & Bobby

Christine & Bobby married at Swaneset Bay on October 3, 2026, and their day is a perfect example of what this venue does best: a lawn ceremony under open skies, golden October portraits on the course (with their little white dog stealing several frames), and a ballroom celebration that ran late into the night — complete with a live wedding painter capturing the day on canvas as it happened.

Wedding details flat lay with a save-the-date card, perfume, crystal bridal heels and a dog-bone cookie on a pink background.

Questions Couples Ask About Swaneset Bay

What happens if it rains? Swaneset Bay has covered and indoor options, and rain light is actually beautiful for portraits — soft, even, and flattering. We build a wet-weather plan into your timeline so the day never depends on a forecast.

When is the best light? Golden hour, without question — the last hour before sunset on the course is when Swaneset Bay earns its reputation. I plan your portrait time around it.

How far ahead should we book? Swaneset Bay dates are popular, especially in the fall. If you have a date in mind, it's worth checking early — I take a limited number of weddings each season.
